As a parent you get to experience a lot of amazing things.
Witnessing your offspring come into this world.
Watching them learn new skills and turn into functioning little human beings.
The realization that you now have a free pass to wear sweats in public on occasion, because kids are time consuming.
Ya know, all the good stuff.
Unfortunately, (because the universe believes in balance or something) there are also some less pleasant aspects of parenting.
The fact that you haven’t had a decent night's’ sleep in about 150 years…
And it’s starting to show.
The fact that your house, most times, looks like you are badly losing a game of Jumanji.
The fact that you used to be cool and cultured, but now you spend most of your time arguing with a miniature version of yourself about things you didn’t realize could become arguments.
Of all the things that parents endure, however, there is one thing that far outstrips any other negative aspect of child-rearing. And it doesn’t even come from our children.
It's become commonly known as “mom-shaming” but this particularly poopy phenomenon can happen to pretty much any parent.
It is when another person (or worse parent) feels entitled to nitpick, comment-upon, or generally weigh-in on your parenting choices in a demeaning or negative way.
It’s feeling judged by other parents because of your parenting practices or choices.
And it is the. Absolute. Worst.
An appalling 60 of moms report experiencing parent shaming.
And we’re betting that the actual numbers on this are a lot higher once you include dads and other caregivers.
It could happen at the supermarket when you have the audacity to tell your toddler that they don’t need the sugary treat they are begging for. This is usually when Martha pipes in with a helpful, “It’s just a chocolate bar” between picking up polident and cat-food.
It could happen when you post a cute picture of your baby on social media, not realizing that, according to Karen and other keyboard warriors, you have exposed your child to predators, identity theft, and measles by doing so.
And, unfortunately, if you cloth diaper, it will likely happen pretty much anywhere and everywhere, coming from all sides.
I’m not sure what it is about choosing cloth in modern times that gets people so riled, but it seems to be a subject that spawns very strong and loud opinions in others.
For those of us who are already part of the cloth family, we know that choosing cloth is really not that big a deal. Unless by “big deal” you mean a money and environment-saving stroke of genius.
And while some outsiders can see the advantages, more often choosing cloth spawns a lot of mom-shamey side-eye.
It seems like most people can’t see the potential advantages past the one glaring disadvantage: bags of poop.
If only they knew about the Lil Helper Large Wetbag:
Waterproof Material: Our wet bag is made of the same resilient, waterproof PUL that is used for our PUL cloth diapers. When we say waterproof, we essentially mean that the bag won't leak if you happen to put in diapers that are "moisture laden". This means that no matter what your diapers are soaked in, you won’t need to worry about anything spreading.
Secure Construction: All our wetbags are double stitched to prevent leaks- a feature available in no other wetbag on the market. The bottom of the bag is continuous fabric and the top is a convenient drawstring. This allows for easy access and airflow.
Convenient & Multi-Use: The bag is big enough to store 15-20 diapers. This means it will contain your stash until wash day but it can also be used for trips or on the go.
And of course, all of this comes with the our legendary customer support where emails are answered within minutes and you always have the option to call in with questions.
Cloth diapering, like any new thing you try, has a learning curve but our diapers and accessories are designed to be intuitive and convenient.
This means you aren’t making any compromises by choosing cloth and the naysayers have no foundation for their snooty judgement.
Think we are kidding? Here’s the cell number of Lil Helper’s CEO, Mohammed, 647-885-4642. Have your mom-shamers call him and ask why choosing cloth is a no brainer. His vast knowledge of poop-catchers and razor sharp wit will have them convinced in no time.
Don’t worry about the time- just call.
I love this wet bag. It is the perfect size to contain all of my dirty diapers until wash day (about 20 at most). I have had mine about 6 months and wash it every time I wash my diapers (every 3 days) and it literally looks BRAND NEW. Jenna on 29th Jul 2019
I love tis wet bag! We use it for diapers as we our house is spread out over three floors I need a bag on each one. Recently we used it on a beach trip and threw all of our dirty laundry in it as we went. Once we got home laundry was a breeze. It holds quite a bit but folds up very small when empty. Very pleased with this bag! Elizabeth on 6th Jul 2019
I love these bags. They keep all our messy diapers contained until laundry time. Unknown on 29th Jun 2019
This wetbag is durable, well made, and the perfect size for the huge number of diapers my newborn goes through each day! I admit I've just been transferring over to cloth in the last couple weeks as my little guy is 8 weeks now. The products I've picked up from lil helper are such high quality and the customer service is unlike anything I've arm before. I'll be purchasing more items soon! Aksinia on 30th May 2019
Not only is this bag great for containing the day to day stink and wetness of your poopy diapers but I truly believe its indestructible. My washing machine broke mid diaper load so I had to bring a load of soaked diapers to my MIL to continue the wash and this wet bag carried about 15pounds of extreme wetness without any trouble or leaks. This product is simply amazing! Unknown on 5th Mar 2019
When I made my original purchase of diapers to begin our journey we purchased 1 large wet bag and put it inside of a garbage can in the nursery and it’s soooo convenient because when you wash the diapers you wash the bag!! So on my next purchase we got a second bag so when the one is being washed the clean one is inside! Great to rotate! Maria on 11th Jan 2019
My first wetbag came ripped - but lil helper’s amazing customer service sent me a new one no questions asked. I use my wetbag as a diaper pail liner for my CDs. By the third day the bag gets damp on the bottom, but I just throw it right in the wash with my diapers. The draw string also came out in the wash, but for what I use it for it does not matter. Overall good product. Unknown on 28th Jun 2018
I bought a large stainless step garbage can and am using this as a liner beside my change table. Love the fun color options! Tegan Kraft on 21st Feb 2018
Great for controlling smell until the next load of laundry. No Leaks! Can use as a pail liner Unknown on 1st Dec 2017
I cloth diapered my first 7 years ago and now my new babe. By far this wet bag is the best quality one I've purchased. It hold so many diapers and never leaks. It washes great and dries fast. Unknown on 30th Nov 2017
I use this as a pail liner in my Ubbi pail. It’s the perfect size, holds nearly all my diapers for toting back and forth from the laundry room, and is so flipping soft!
The ubbi brand pail liners were terrible and sticky so the diapers wouldn’t actually fall into the pail. The Lil helpers one is SO MUCH BETTER. can’t recomment highly enough! Leah on 8th Nov 2017
Love the colour choices available. Makes it a tad easier to know it's a bag full of poop.
I use the mango one as a liner for my diaper pail- then I just dump EVERYTHING into the washer every couple of days. So quick and easy.
I should probably get a second one... Victoria on 20th Oct 2017
Glad I ordered this. I keep it in my laundry closet and jut put my rinsed diapers in and wash every 4 days. Keeps the moisture and smell in.
My advice is to get a second though.... when I wash my diapers I also wash this bag inside out, leaving me without a bag to use while doing laundry. Nici on 14th Sep 2017
I like using this wetbag to carry all my diapers so I can cloth while away from home. Saves me from all the poosplosions we get in disposables and contains all the wetness. Unknown on 15th Jul 2017
I have used a few different wet bags for my diaper pail (I have an Ubbi) and Lil Helper far outranks any! The fabric is much stronger with a great amount of stretch, and the stitching is reinforced on the corners for excellent durability. The colours are also beautifully vibrant which is always a plus. Excellent product!! Catherine on 9th Jul 2017
Absolutely love this wet bag! It's huge, so can definitely hold a few days worth if you're not up to doing laundry every day. Made to last, easy to clean and quick to dry. Awesome on its own or used in a diaper pail. Recommend it 100% Madeline on 23rd May 2017
Looks like it will hold a lot of diapers & is made of a sturdy material to last many washes. I haven't been able to use it yet though because I haven't had my baby!
Thanks for the note, tea & phone message. What a great Canadian company! Tamara on 1st May 2017
Great bag to put the dirty diapers. Big enough for 3 days of use before laundry. No smell at all in the room. I would take one of every color!
Can't live without it!
Philippe on 16th Apr 2017
I order this bag to hold my soiled diapers and I love it! I do diaper laundry every 1.5-2 days and it holds all the dirty diapers and still has room for more. It's a sturdy bag and it washes well! Unknown on 24th Jan 2017
I've used other large wet bag products from other companies, but this one is much better and here's my reasons why:
1. Perfect size for number of diapers, as we wash our clothe diapers every 3 days this is perfect for turnaround time.
2. Great quality for cost of product.
3. Has a nice stretchiness to it, as we bought a plastic container and just put this in as a liner..., easy to use!
I love these products, and the have excellent customer service, as I had a slight problem with my order which was rectified without any problems in a timely manner.
