There are a million decisions you need to make before the baby gets here.
You need to select the color scheme of the nursery. Install the car seat. Think of a cutesy middle name. Apple? Hipster? Laker? Find a suitable pre-school, school, college, etc. for your child. Everything needs to be walking distance, obviously.
And now you even have to decide how many and what kind of cloth diapers to get?
Although we cannot decide what your baby’s middle name should be (I’d go with Lil Helper- why not?), we can definitely make your life simpler by offering our Lil Helper Day Pack. It has all the diapers, inserts & wipes you might need for 1 full-day of cloth diapering.
If you are not into doing laundry everyday, we would recommend getting at least 2 and preferably 3 packs. So if you plan on washing your diapers every 2 days then you need 2 Day Packs. You should ideally start with 2 day packs and if you think you need more diapers then we recommend you get an additional pack.
All of this comes with the our legendary customer support where emails are answered super quick like, and you always have the option to call in with questions.
Cloth diapering, like any new thing you try, has a learning curve but our diapers are designed to be intuitive mixed with our over-zealous customer service, you will never be in want of answers.
Think we are kidding? Here’s the cell number of Lil Helper’s CEO, Mohammed, 647-885-4642. Ask him why you should get his diapers. Don’t worry about the time- just call. Now try that with any other company.
The Day Pack gets us through a day and a half with our newborn! She is a heavy wetter, so the charcoal diapers and inserts are perfect! The bamboo stay dry liners are also amazing. Easy to wash the poop off, and they really do stay dry! We put it on top of the charcoal insert at night since she usually had a big bowel movement at night and another in the morning and it's never been as messy as when we were still using disposables from the hospital. The flush able liners are great when you're out and about and don't want to use up all the stay dry liners. Honestly, the BEST products! Making cloth diapers easy for our generation :) not to mention the super cute diapers! Adriana on 17th Feb 2016
FTM and new to cloth diapering. I bought all different kinds before my daughter was born and these are by far my favourite! These diapers make it as easy as disposables and they never leak! I recommend them to everyone!! Customer service is also amazing, they were quick to answer all my questions and even threw in some added surprises! Lyn on 12th Feb 2016
We started cloth diapering when my daughter was 2 months old and had bought an assortment of diapers and I got our first lil helpers using a gift card. We knew right away that we loved them. So soft and pretty!
I was equally impressed when we got our day pack. It's a great way to get started with some great quality diapers. They are nice and trim in the day with one insert, and hold up really well at night with extra inserts.
As a bonus we love the prints and colours. I'm looking forward to getting another day pack and switching bye rest of our stash over, but for now I'm waiting to see if new prints will be released! Unknown on 5th Feb 2016
My daughter has food allergies and sensitive skin. These diapers healed her rash in days and skin lesions in a week. Now she only gets occasional rashes when she tries a new food and they clear in a day. No more open wounds or fussy baby! The charcoal diapers absorb lots and wash well. Haven't had any problems with diaper funk either. Also, the wipes which i didn't really care about are actually great. The extras that came in my package were also a nice suprise. I have ordered two of these packs plus a couple more inserts and lil helpers is now the only cloth diaper we use. I love the stay dry inserts and soft covers. Also everything dries fast which was the problem I was having with other diapers. Only thing I would change is that you would have the option to choose between charcoal and bamboo inserts. We've been using Lil Helpers for a couple weeks now and we're hooked! There are so many great things about these diapers and this company:
1. The Baby Do Good program - this was the first thing I noticed when I went to their website and what made me end up choosing to purchase from them. It's so good to see companies who give!
2. they're Canadian based!
3. they're not a huge corporation, so I feel I am helping support my Canadian economy
4. they actually care about the customers, the babies who'll be wearing the diapers and enviroment. (There was a hand written note and treats included in the box of diapers they shipped to us :D)
5. They're helpful (not just the diapers)! The how-to page with the easy to read and understand; the infographics as well as the videos make it less confusing to use cloth. I knew right away how to prepare the diapers and how to wash them (and that I didn't need to worry about stains ;))
6. they don't leak! Being easily adjustable with the snaps for the legs and tummy means I can get the best fit. We were given some Bum Genius one size pocket diapers as hand-me-downs by a friend, but they gave our first daughter rashes and leaked a lot. We have been really disappointed and frustrated with the name brand disposable diapers on our now 12 week old daughter because they leak so often.
We have been able to use these diapers on both our daughters (2.5 years and now 12 weeks) which is great because we don't have 2 different sizes of diapers hanging around our small townhouse.
I love that I could purchase this 'Day Pack' bundle because I didn't have to think about how many diapers and inserts to get and it's a great value.
I also love that there's the potential to use the outter part up to 2 times.
I hope more people will get on board with using cloth diapers! Jenna on 28th Dec 2015
Most amazing diaper ever. Charcoal bamboo can hold a river of pee. Poop explosions are tamed to stay in diaper. Now I just need new prints! Jaime Wiebe on 23rd Sep 2015
I love these diapers!! We decided to do cloth diapers not only because we didn't want a bunch of chemicals on bubs' bum but also because we have very little storage space and didn't want to be running around looking for sales when we needed new diapers since stocking up wasn't an option. I'm so happy we chose to go this route and with this brand. We started using them when bubs was 5.5 weeks old and probably about 9.5-10 pounds. There was a bit of a learning curve at first and we had a few leak on us at the beginning but solved that problem pretty quickly. I love having both the white and charcoal liners. The charcoal ones really do clear up a rash quickly. Because bubs is still pretty small, we are only using the small
liners during the day. When I use the white ones, I also use the bamboo stay dry liners so we get the bamboo properties to keep rash away and keep bubs feeling dry but still have the absorption of the white liners. At night, we use a large white liner and a small grey liner - he feels dry but doesn't leak since he's in it for longer. I give them a good rinse when they are soiled instead of doing a rinse cycle in the wash before hand (which reduces our laundering time) and do an extra rinse at the end of the wash to ensure all the soap is washed out.
I can't say enough good things about these diapers and am so glad we made the cloth diapering choice!!

Oh my gosh this are amazing my daughter loves them, they fit her so nicely and they are so soft. I would recommend these to anyone and everyone who wants to cloth diapers. We are selling the other brand of cloth diapers to buy more of these ones. I can honestly say I'll only but these brand of cloth diapers :) lynn on 26th Aug 2015
These are by far the best cloth diapers I've used yet and I've tried quiet a few brands. My favorite part is that you do not need to stuff or un stuff to wash, i also enjoyed the surprise of ordering the day pack and not knowing what color diapers you'll be receiving which makes the excitement of opening your packing alittle funner although I think the option to choose boy or girl should be available as I have a boy and got both a purple diaper and the heart diaper which is perfectly fine but I would have liked to have gotten the boyer color diapers. Your customer service was a very good experience, cant thank you enough and I appreciate it. lindsey on 11th Aug 2015
These are the most fantastic , practical & environmental product for mums to use. My daughter being a first time mum used this product , I was so impressed I bought the day pack for her. I wish this product had of been around when I had my children , so easy to use , so easy to clean & so much healthier for babies skin ( no nappy rash) I highly recommend this product. Super impressed! Amanda on 29th Jun 2015
I used disposable diapers for my eldest daughter and for the first five months of my youngest daughter's life. I was getting tired of buying expensive, leaky diapers that were probably just going to end up in a landfill.
Lil Helper diapers amaze me all the time. The cute little bundles contain the mess as well as the stink!! I found the day pack to be an excellent value. The only thing I wish it came with more of are the bamboo liners. These things are downright magical. Be sure to order 2 or 3 extra packs of the bamboo liners! nicole on 27th May 2015
My baby loves these diapers, they keep him dry, they fit very good and theyre very cute! I was impressed with how fast my order shipped, and it came with free reusable wipes, candy, tea and a little thank you note! Very easy to wash and use. Chantelle on 26th May 2015
My husband and I had decided we'd try using cloth diapers well before our new bundle of love arrived and I researched for days for the best cloth diaper solution. Suffice to say, I quickly became overwhelmed... Until I stumbled upon a review raving about Lil Helper diapers. "Eureka!," I thought. Perhaps my search is over? Enter Lil Helper and their fantastic, informative site and I was sold and bought their 1-day pack. I have to admit, I was a little worried I was buying it prematurely before having tried them ... And before our bub had arrived. I needn't have worried. The diapers have been fantastic and I love the all purpose face cloths and liners as well. So much so that I came back and bought another 1-day pack + a few extra diapers, liners, and inserts. Thank you so much for a fantastic product! Vivian on 25th Apr 2015
I've been cloth diapering my foster babies for about 18 months after 16 years of disposables. I was happy with my original brand of cloth diapers until they completely pulled out of Canada except via Amazon where they falsely claimed to carry "the full line" of products and prices were inconsistent and sometimes abaurdly expensive. Although I wasn't in need of new product at that time, I wasn't going to wait around until I was to look for another brand of cloth diapers I could trust. I stumbled upon Lil Helpers charcoal bamboo diapers on shop.ca and read that the charcoal was better for babies prone to diaper rashes. I have one of those so gave them a try. I was so happy with the 4 I bought that I went straight to the L'il Helper website and ordered 2 full day packs and 2 overnight inserts. I was surprised when it took several days before I received the "order has shipped" email but they arrived quickly after that. When they did arrive I was pleasantly surprised by not only a hand written thank you note including some tea and candies etc, but extra goodies in my package that I hadn't even ordered. The extras included a wet bag, an additional 5 cloth wipes, a lovely receiving blanket, and FOUR additional solid charcoal diapers!! Needless to say I was a happy customer!
The day pack includes both bamboo and charcoal diapers/inserts and I tried the bamboo, however wasn't as thrilled with them as my previous brand of bamboo inserts. They stained easily and seemed to bunch when they shrunk (using only warm water to wash, not hot) However, the charcoal liners are amazing! They wash up nicely with no noticeable shrinking or bunching. They stay soft even when line dried. They dry quickly whether machine or line dried.
I was surprised to find later that I couldn't order more of the flushable liners that came with the day pack so will have to go to an alternate store/site for those. Certainly not a big deal, but it's always nice to be able to buy everything at one place, and I would have been happy to repurchase items from this company. My only complaint would have been that I was only permitted to purchase 2 of the overnight inserts. The site wouldn't allow me to add more than that to my cart. (I even tried going back to shop.ca and their site is the same for the overnight inserts). Although we don't want to leave diapers unwashed more than a couple of days, because I foster babies, I almost always have 2 (and often even 3 at night) in diapers so it would have been nice to purchase enough for all of my babies to get through a couple of nights.
All in all, great experience and I would definitely recommend the charcoal diapers to others.
Great work Lil Helper! Unknown on 23rd Apr 2015
Full Disclosure I do live in Toronto, Canada; I sat stunned last night after experiencing some of the best customer service I have ever received. I had made up my mind to choose LH as our main diapers for our baby to be (we're having our first baby!!) & placed my first large order. And on the same night- THE WHOLE ORDER WAS HAND DELIVERED TO MY FRONT DOOR!!
LH - you have an ambassador for life. I'm thrilled to have choosen not only a well made, locally designed diaper- but a company with such amazing & awesome people. The care you put into every order is more than just good customer service. It's a true passion for what you do & it is contagious!
Thank you so much- you made this mom to be feel super special! Tasha in Toronto on 21st Mar 2015
Great deal! Great quality! Our little guy doesn't arrive for 8 more weeks but I'm confident he will be more than pleased with his bamboo/charcoal diapers. I'm actually excited to change a diaper lol. Bought all the diapers we need for a fraction of the cost of disposables...and we are not adding to the landfill!! That makes me smile. Thanks lilhelper for making this so easy Tracey on 6th Feb 2015
Love the little helper day pack! Great variety of bamboo/charcoal inserts! Love how these diapers fit compared to other brands I've tried! The absorbency of the charcoal inserts is awesome, somewhat deceiving for how thin they are!
Thanks for the awesome diapers Lil Helper!! Keep up the great work/quality!!!
May have to change our stash of diapers to just solely lil helpers!!! Krista on 26th Dec 2014
