To remedy a diaper rash, pediatricians recommend to air-out your child's bum and to keep it dry. Our Charcoal fabric keeps your baby feeling completely even after a full-night of use. This stay-dry ability makes Lil Helper's Charcoal Cloth Diaper ideal for use during a diaper rash and preventing further breakouts. Most parents use it as a nap or night-time diaper.
The Mayo Clinic says that: “diaper rash is commonly linked to continuously wet or infrequently changed diapers, diarrhea, and using plastic pants to cover diapers.”
All of these issues surrounding irritant diaper dermatitis (IDD) or diaper rash can be prevented by using our Charcoal Cloth Diaper. Here's how:
We've been using these since my daughter was 2 months old! She's now 7 months. When we first purchased diapers, we went with 2 Canadian companies, one of them being lil helpers. We prefer the fit and convenience of lil helpers so we've put our other brand aside for now and are slowly increasing our collection on lil helpers. We are now up to 15! They keep her dry, without rashes even when teathing. I can't complain! Only recomendation I might make is although these are designed as a one stop shop for diapers, maybe consider making a newborn size for thos extra small babies until they fully fit in the regular ones. That was our reason behind waiting until she was 2 months, before then, they were too big even on the smallest settings.
Thanks lil helpers!!! Julie Durocher on 26th May 2015
I love how these diapers look, feel and fit! I have used them with a newborn all the way up to a preschooler for night time. They make great night time diapers and I've never had a leak! jacqueline scifres on 24th May 2015
These are perfect for over night, my heavy wetter has yet to have a leak, and the charcoal is so soft I'm sure his little booty is in heaven! sabreena on 22nd May 2015
The first time we purchased these diapers was for our first baby, when he was battling a diaper rash. They really did help to clear it up and keep his bum drier! Now that our second baby has arrived we ordered several more - they are the BEST for overnight, obviously awesome throughout the day too, and they even fit her at 4 weeks old (11 lbs).
We are SO happy with them, and are telling all our friends who are moms to be to give them a try too! Awesome baby shower gift too! Unknown on 11th May 2015
I love these diapers! The charcoal absorbs so well, and I appreciate the option to use a single or double pad. The micro fleece inside and the exterior cover is the sofest of all the diapers I've tried. The snaps inside are so easy to use and keep the pad in place like a dream. Overall a very well made diaper. Wish my entire stash was made up of these. Sarah Lynn on 5th May 2015
The charcoal diapers are like magic super diapers! It's hard to tell when the little one is even wet! I'm loving the ease and convenience of the snap in inserts too! I'd highly recommend these for you little ones & for the sanity of moms and dads everywhere! Tasha on 25th Apr 2015
Lovely looking and great fitting nappy. Love the ease of the poppers to fit the inserts in and take them out. Makes drying really fast. Very happy. Unknown on 26th Mar 2015
I love using these for the night time. My guy is a heavy wetter and sleeps for a 10-12 hour cycle. I just change the insert midway through the night to another charcoal set and that's it! Dry bum with zero diaper rash. He wakes up happy and so do I. The only time I had a leak was when I forgot to change the insert. Unknown on 13th Mar 2015
The LH charcoal diapers are our favourite diapers because they wick away moisture so well! Definitely our go to diaper as it helped relieve our babe's dry skin from using disposables. kirstienne on 25th Feb 2015
From prep to drying to fit to overnight use these have been fantastic! They only require one wash cycle to prep, they dry super fast, they absorb a large quantity of pee!!!! My son is a pretty heavy wetter and I've never had a diaper that can go more than a few hours without feeling wet. This was a completely different and exciting experience. So much so that I bought another set of 3 a week later so that I can have enough in rotation for every night plus spares. Tijana on 2nd Feb 2015
We have just started using the cloth diapers with our 8lb baby (they didn't fit from birth because he was 6lbs 4oz) and the charcoal diapers have been great. If the baby sleeps longer than 3 hours and we can't change him, however, they tend to leak so we have to keep on top of diaper changes. Unknown on 30th Dec 2014
This was my first cloth diaper experience so I don't really have another brand to compare to.
- An unexpected advantage was that they make great swim diapers, they have been awesome for that!
- Tried both styles and found the charcoal to be a MUCH better product. Absorbs and breaths better and drys much quicker when hung to dry. The cotton ones bunch up and stain I find ( breast milk poo comes out super easy in the sun...not so easy when its too cold to hang to dry, not a problem with the charcoal)
- Find that I have to change baby hourly to avoid leaks, kind of a pain when I could easily go 2 or 3 hours during the day with a disposable - would certainly never trust them at night!
- Quite bulky, find I have to put baby in clothes that are too big for him to accommodate his big diaper bum, cute, but looks a bit silly with the pant legs too long and wide.
I use them now sparingly on days when we're home all day and am planning on doing laundry that night. Still nice to save some from the landfill, but definitely don't love them as much as I thought I would. ( again awesome for the pool though!!) Renee on 26th Nov 2014
These are my favorite diapers. With a slightly more expensive price tag we only bought enough for night time use and went with bamboo for the rest of our diaper arsenal. Given my time back I think I would have paid the extra money and went with nothing but charcoal. Yes this would have been extreme over kill but these diapers are awesome. On top of keeping diaper rash away, keeping my baby dry through twelve hours of sleep (yes I know I am lucky for that one and very thankful), and fitting a little slimmer than the bamboo liners, they also nearly come out of the washer dry which solves my only complaint about bamboo liners, their insane drying time. Meaghan on 30th Sep 2014
After almost six months of an almost rash we broke up with our nighttime diaper and switched to little helper charcoal. No more red bum !! I appreciate their absorbency and they are now our go to nighttime diaper. The only con was that some of the stitching on some of the inserts was a bit sloppy (and hopefully doesn't fray) - otherwise they would have gotten five stars. Unknown on 26th Aug 2014
These are my fave lil helper times! I now own 4 charcoal. They fit so well, no LEAKING! I love the quality of the fabric. The charcoal bamboo works wonders when my LO HAS A RED BUM. The colors are also so cute! Allison H on 27th Jul 2014
I love the charcoal diapers because the inserts are slim - slimmer than the other inserts - which makes it much easier to put on a squirmy baby! :) They also absorb a lot but still stay slim, even when soaked. Because they're dark they also clean up really nice and prevent stains. I ordered a few to try at first but liked them so much that I bought more. Unknown on 16th Jun 2014
These are well-made, nice looking diapers. I love how the charcoal eliminates the pee smell so you can reuse the cover longer than a regular fleece lined cover. (I use it at least 3 times before washing.)
This diaper with the charcoal insert did leak for nighttime use, but when I tried the cover over a fitted diaper for night we had no leaks and this cover fit over my fitted diapers better than the covers I had been using.
Since I used prefolds with my first baby, the grandmas are very happy to have an easier-to-use diaper for baby #2. Miranda on 31st May 2014
Initially, we ordered both these and the organic bamboo diapers for our baby but found the charcoal bamboo diapers to be our favorite (and far superior). They are super soft against our baby's skin - he has yet to have any diaper rash, which I attest to the amazing fabric of these diapers - and he just seems more comfortable in these than the odd time we have had him in disposable diapers. These diapers are easy to use, and I was also surprised at how easy they are to clean when used in combination with the bamboo liners. They are very absorbent and never get stinky after washing or drying them...we won't use anything else! Shana on 7th May 2014
I purchased this diaper after my sister recommended I take a look at the website. I ordered 4 to get free shipping (great deal!). The package came with a free cloth wipe, some diaper liners and a personal thank you note. Fabulous!
The diaper is a bit bulky and so it quite large under clothing. I have a skinny baby, so he has quite the bum while wearing it!
He does have VERY sensitive skin (which is why we started cloth diapering when he was a few weeks old). Sometimes when he has a terrible BM he can get little sores. Thankfully these sores clear up quickly with cloth diapers and perhaps a bit of diaper cream (love the liners in the package), BUT just wearing this charcoal bamboo diaper for a few hours, the sores are GONE! So, I have made these diapers our go to for nighttime. Best of all he is a big pee-er and these don't leak (I prepped them 4 times) and they stay dry on the inside! LOVE THAT!
We have also used them when he does have some runny poo and for long car trips where we might not get to a change every 2 hours.
For those reasons, I love this diaper. Of course, I like a less-bulky diaper for every day wear, but these are awesome!
If your baby has sensitive skin or goes all night in one diaper, I highly recommend Lil Helpers Charcoal Bamboo! Courtney on 4th Feb 2014
Diapers look great and are very absorbent. They wash well and dry quickly on the line. We've had a few leaks through the legs because our baby is on the skinnier side but I expect she will grow out of that.
The quality control on the diapers is a little off. On our liners the snaps are not aligned all that well so the second liner snaps on crooked which doesn't really affect anything just bugs us/looks terrible (wouldn't stop me from using them though). We didn't notice until after using it, but one of our diapers has a hole where the liner wasn't sewn properly to the outside cover.
All in all though a great diaper :) Unknown on 2nd Jan 2014
