HOW TO PREP YOUR CHARCOAL CLOTH DIAPER

TESTIMONIALS FROM PARENTS WHO HAVE USED OUR CHARCOAL DIAPER

    FAQ ON DIAPER RASHES

To remedy a diaper rash, pediatricians recommend to air-out your child's bum and to keep it dry. Our Charcoal fabric keeps your baby feeling completely even after a full-night of use. This stay-dry ability makes Lil Helper's Charcoal Cloth Diaper ideal for use during a diaper rash and preventing further breakouts. Most parents use it as a nap or night-time diaper.

The Mayo Clinic says that: “diaper rash is commonly linked to continuously wet or infrequently changed diapers, diarrhea, and using plastic pants to cover diapers.”

All of these issues surrounding irritant diaper dermatitis (IDD) or diaper rash can be prevented by using our Charcoal Cloth Diaper. Here's how:

All of these issues surrounding irritant diaper dermatitis (IDD) or diaper rash can be prevented by using our Charcoal Cloth Diaper. Here's how:

    • Keep Your Baby Feeling Dry: The charcoal inserts can hold more than 180 ml of liquid and the great part is that your child still feel's dry. Keeping your child’s skin dry is the best way to remedy diaper rashes- charcoal's wicking ability let’s you do just that.

    • Let’s You Air-Out Your Baby: Most pediatricians suggest that it is best to let your baby go commando or without a diaper to remedy a diaper rash. Our Charcoal Cloth diaper is the next-best-thing to this.

    • Rash Creams Not Necessary: Rash prevention creams are supposed to create a water-barrier to keep your baby’s skin dry. But before application if your baby's skin is not thoroughly dry you could worsen the rash by trapping moisture on your child’s bum. You do not need any rash cream while using our charcoal cloth diapers. Our materials will keep your baby dry and well ventilated without subjecting your child's delicate skin to additional chemicals.

    1. Great Nappy, Great Service

Lovely looking and great fitting nappy. Love the ease of the poppers to fit the inserts in and take them out. Makes drying really fast. Very happy. on 26th Mar 2015

    2. Great for the night

I love using these for the night time. My guy is a heavy wetter and sleeps for a 10-12 hour cycle. I just change the insert midway through the night to another charcoal set and that's it! Dry bum with zero diaper rash. He wakes up happy and so do I. The only time I had a leak was when I forgot to change the insert. on 13th Mar 2015

    3. LH charcoal dipes are our fave!

The LH charcoal diapers are our favourite diapers because they wick away moisture so well! Definitely our go to diaper as it helped relieve our babe's dry skin from using disposables. on 25th Feb 2015

    4. Fantastic diapers!!!!

From prep to drying to fit to overnight use these have been fantastic! They only require one wash cycle to prep, they dry super fast, they absorb a large quantity of pee!!!! My son is a pretty heavy wetter and I've never had a diaper that can go more than a few hours without feeling wet. This was a completely different and exciting experience. So much so that I bought another set of 3 a week later so that I can have enough in rotation for every night plus spares. on 2nd Feb 2015

    5. Charcoal Diapers

We have just started using the cloth diapers with our 8lb baby (they didn't fit from birth because he was 6lbs 4oz) and the charcoal diapers have been great. If the baby sleeps longer than 3 hours and we can't change him, however, they tend to leak so we have to keep on top of diaper changes. on 30th Dec 2014

    6. Just okay for me

This was my first cloth diaper experience so I don't really have another brand to compare to.

      - An unexpected advantage was that they make great swim diapers, they have been awesome for that!

      - Tried both styles and found the charcoal to be a MUCH better product. Absorbs and breaths better and drys much quicker when hung to dry. The cotton ones bunch up and stain I find ( breast milk poo comes out super easy in the sun...not so easy when its too cold to hang to dry, not a problem with the charcoal)

      - Find that I have to change baby hourly to avoid leaks, kind of a pain when I could easily go 2 or 3 hours during the day with a disposable - would certainly never trust them at night!

      - Quite bulky, find I have to put baby in clothes that are too big for him to accommodate his big diaper bum, cute, but looks a bit silly with the pant legs too long and wide.

I use them now sparingly on days when we're home all day and am planning on doing laundry that night. Still nice to save some from the landfill, but definitely don't love them as much as I thought I would. ( again awesome for the pool though!!)

    7. Best ever!

These are my favorite diapers. With a slightly more expensive price tag we only bought enough for night time use and went with bamboo for the rest of our diaper arsenal. Given my time back I think I would have paid the extra money and went with nothing but charcoal. Yes this would have been extreme over kill but these diapers are awesome. On top of keeping diaper rash away, keeping my baby dry through twelve hours of sleep (yes I know I am lucky for that one and very thankful), and fitting a little slimmer than the bamboo liners, they also nearly come out of the washer dry which solves my only complaint about bamboo liners, their insane drying time. on 30th Sep 2014

    8. No more red bum!

After almost six months of an almost rash we broke up with our nighttime diaper and switched to little helper charcoal. No more red bum !! I appreciate their absorbency and they are now our go to nighttime diaper. The only con was that some of the stitching on some of the inserts was a bit sloppy (and hopefully doesn't fray) - otherwise they would have gotten five stars. on 26th Aug 2014

    9. Love this diaper!

These are my fave lil helper times! I now own 4 charcoal. They fit so well, no LEAKING! I love the quality of the fabric. The charcoal bamboo works wonders when my LO HAS A RED BUM. The colors are also so cute! on 27th Jul 2014

    10. Best Diaper!

I love the charcoal diapers because the inserts are slim - slimmer than the other inserts - which makes it much easier to put on a squirmy baby! :) They also absorb a lot but still stay slim, even when soaked. Because they're dark they also clean up really nice and prevent stains. I ordered a few to try at first but liked them so much that I bought more. on 16th Jun 2014

    11. Impressed

These are well-made, nice looking diapers. I love how the charcoal eliminates the pee smell so you can reuse the cover longer than a regular fleece lined cover. (I use it at least 3 times before washing.)
This diaper with the charcoal insert did leak for nighttime use, but when I tried the cover over a fitted diaper for night we had no leaks and this cover fit over my fitted diapers better than the covers I had been using.
Since I used prefolds with my first baby, the grandmas are very happy to have an easier-to-use diaper for baby #2.

    12. Efficient, easy, and seemingly comfortable!

Initially, we ordered both these and the organic bamboo diapers for our baby but found the charcoal bamboo diapers to be our favorite (and far superior). They are super soft against our baby's skin - he has yet to have any diaper rash, which I attest to the amazing fabric of these diapers - and he just seems more comfortable in these than the odd time we have had him in disposable diapers. These diapers are easy to use, and I was also surprised at how easy they are to clean when used in combination with the bamboo liners. They are very absorbent and never get stinky after washing or drying them...we won't use anything else! on 7th May 2014

    13. Excellent night diaper

I purchased this diaper after my sister recommended I take a look at the website. I ordered 4 to get free shipping (great deal!). The package came with a free cloth wipe, some diaper liners and a personal thank you note. Fabulous!
The diaper is a bit bulky and so it quite large under clothing. I have a skinny baby, so he has quite the bum while wearing it!
He does have VERY sensitive skin (which is why we started cloth diapering when he was a few weeks old). Sometimes when he has a terrible BM he can get little sores. Thankfully these sores clear up quickly with cloth diapers and perhaps a bit of diaper cream (love the liners in the package), BUT just wearing this charcoal bamboo diaper for a few hours, the sores are GONE! So, I have made these diapers our go to for nighttime. Best of all he is a big pee-er and these don't leak (I prepped them 4 times) and they stay dry on the inside! LOVE THAT!
We have also used them when he does have some runny poo and for long car trips where we might not get to a change every 2 hours.
For those reasons, I love this diaper. Of course, I like a less-bulky diaper for every day wear, but these are awesome!
If your baby has sensitive skin or goes all night in one diaper, I highly recommend Lil Helpers Charcoal Bamboo!

    14. Good diaper, a few flaws

Diapers look great and are very absorbent. They wash well and dry quickly on the line. We've had a few leaks through the legs because our baby is on the skinnier side but I expect she will grow out of that.

The quality control on the diapers is a little off. On our liners the snaps are not aligned all that well so the second liner snaps on crooked which doesn't really affect anything just bugs us/looks terrible (wouldn't stop me from using them though). We didn't notice until after using it, but one of our diapers has a hole where the liner wasn't sewn properly to the outside cover.

All in all though a great diaper :)

    15. I now love cloth diapers!!! Never turning back :)

I love how well this diaper actually works!!! I don't have to worry about my daughters diapers leaking anymore!! Everything stays inside!!! Very impressed!! I also LOVE that she'll poop on the diaper and NOTHING stains!!!! Such a great diaper!! These diapers made it so easy to switch to cloth diapers!!! I'm so upset when I run out!! Can't wait to order some more!!! on 16th Nov 2013

    16. Amazing

My 13 month old always seems to be just on the verge of a nasty rash. Never once have we been able to forgo diaper cream without bad results. So when I ordered this diaper I was definitely skeptical.

For once a product is exactly as advertised. I am able to put her in these without anything else on her bum and her skin stayed healthy. The inserts are well-sized allowing for multiple uses of the same cover (unlike some other AI2s which end up being single use only). By the end of the first day, all traces of rash had disappeared for the very first time in her life.

I expected the covers to be essentially just Alvas, but they are soft, trim and fit amazingly better.

I'm waiting until they get a few more washes before I put them to the toddler-who-nurses-all-night test but already they are the definite favorite in my household. If I could afford to completely rebuild my stash using these, I would.

    17. Hooked on cloth

We weren't 100% sure cloth diapering was for us - infact, we tried a high end brand when our son was first born but they did not work out. We decided to give Lil Helpers a go because we liked the charcoal bamboo option, because they were a great price point that my son could wear for years and because they are a Canadian company. Both my husband and I are now hooked on cloth diapering and get a little fuddy-duddy when we have to use a disposable now! on 28th Oct 2013

    18. Will be ordering more after this review!

Love the colors (mint & mauve) fit and the fact that they absorb ammonia.
Great customer service, products were delivered by owner - tea and personalized card were a nice touch.
Diaper leaked at first...with awesome customer service, I found out I didn't prep them properly and problem solved with just another wash.
      on 22nd Oct 2013

    19. Great Fit and Comfort!

This diaper is designed very well, the fit is great and the softness of the charcoal bamboo is fantastic! Unfortunently, my boy wets too much for nap or overnight wear in this diaper, but it is a wonderful addition to our daytime rotation! on 6th Sep 2013

    20. Perfect Diapers for perfect babies

We bought these diapers after doing extensive research on the best way to do reusable diapers. Based on ease of use, durability, materials used, intuitive design (the dyson of diapers) and sheer comfort, these diapers are hands down the best. Not only is the product top of the line, the service we received was nothing I have ever experienced, these people listen to you and are really trying to get your business. If you are going to have a baby and want to do everything right, this is the place for you. Thank you Lil Helpers, our baby loves them. on 5th Sep 2013
